I'm really starting to think this computer is a piece of junk. After having the tablet stop working I sent my computer into Lenovo service and they had it for two weeks waiting for parts. I just got it back *less than a week ago* and now the computer won't boot at all, it just beeps and comes up with a black screen that says "Fan error".
Is anyone else familiar with this error? This will likely be my third time sending the computer in for service and I've only had it for 3 months. Have I just been unlucky or are these lenovo laptops really that bad?

Perhaps the service employee has not attached the fan connector firmly and it has becoming lose on shipment. Sadly it is somewhat tricky to get to this connector, cause the fan assembly is attached to the back of the mainboard, wich makes it neccessary to dissassemble the unit to a large extend.
Do you hear anything, where the fan is located, when you turn your thinkpad on?
No fan noise at all when I start it up, it probably just is that little connector from the fan to the system board but I'll still have to send the unit back to Lenovo and won't have it for the long weekend.
When I first got the computer the display connection was loose so the screen would flicker & go out. I'm a little surprised they don't secure the connections better for a unit that's (supposedly) designed to be held while you use it.

Sir, I do agree you certainly had a bad experience with IBM EasyServ. But please do not lose faith in lenovo, it's just a matter of poorly analyzed machine by Solectron.
What I would suggest is, instead of sending out the machine again to them you should take it in person to a local IBM authorized repair center.

Where did you lookup these authorized repair centers? A month ago, I used the link someone gave in another thread, and there was only one in the San Francisco area, and that phone number didn't even work. If my X60t and X61t are going to continue to be troublesome (not to mention having to get a new X6 Tablet Ultrabase because the one I was shipped is a defective one), I would very much like to start dealing with somewhere local.ryengineer wrote:Sir, I do agree you certainly had a bad experience with IBM EasyServ.
