Do you remember what exactly you updated? Sounds like either the internal wireless card driver or Access Connections-or both. Run System Update again to make sure there is nothing network related that might still be needing updated, and if not you might want to uninstall your wireless card driver and Access Connections, then reinstall from the Lenovo website for your machine.
I lost count...

I let the system update install any outstanding upgrades.

I'll have to revert back to the old version and reapply one at a time. This should help me narrow down which is causing the problem.

I have a similar problem after updating - I can connect fine using WEB, but after some time usually between 15 and 30 minutes my connection is gone again.

According to access connections I am still connected, I still have an IP, the radio is still connected and has a strong signal, but I cannot ping my default gateway.

Disconnecting and reconnecting from access connections, or using windows XP's "repair" on the network connection fixes it again for a while.

I suspect either the BIOS or power management drivers, but I'm not sure since I updated both the BIOS and 6 different drivers at the same time :(

Do you use Access Connections or just the windows built-in wireless client? Windows XP or Vista?

I assume you have some kind of Intel Wireless adapter and not the Atheros?

Yes, its the intel one... but today after getting the newest matrix driver installed too, it seems to be working. I cannot see how that could be related so I must assume that my problem was temporary and it disappeared "by magic" :) (keeping fingers crossed)

This happened to me today after updating iTunes.
I did not try any unprotected access points, but wired ethernet was working. I did a rollback, and things started working again.

I re-updated iTunes a second time and it worked without any problems. This is on Vista.

Something similar used to happen to me a lot on the old T40p with XP, where all network connections would stop working after a reboot, and I would have to recover them by going into safe mode and removing the network adapters, and reinstalling them back in normal mode. I always thought this was some XP "feature" and was looking forward to not doing that any more. I hope this won't be a common occurence on a T61p with Vista.
