T43 Power up problem Weird!

Ok guys,
I am working on a T43. Here is what it does. If you have no ac adapter connected, you will get no response by pushing the power button. If you plug in the ac adapter, the laptop will power on by itself (without pushing the power button) for a second and show the startup screen, then power off. It will not respond to anything again until you unhook the ac adapter and take the battery out.

I have tried it without pretty much every piece connected and i get the same results. I had this problem on this same laptop a year ago and replaced the system board and that seemed to fix it. Till now.

Anyone ever seen anything like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
