Reformatting X61s with XP

Hi all. I just purchased an X61s with Vista Home installed. I want to format to XP, but I just wanted to make sure that there was a recovery partition just in case I want to switch back to Vista in the future. Can anyone verify this? I haven't received my laptop yet. Thanks in advance.
