Noisy left mouse button on X60t

#1 Post by fahim » Sat Sep 01, 2007 2:49 am

Hello,
I did get my x60t. The only bug is that the left mouse button is very noisy after pushing.
Does anybody has this problem and know any solution for this problem? I did read that the left mouse button does push on the metal cover of the frame?!

it will probably get softer as you use it.

this is because there is a small concave underneath the left mouse button.
all you need to do is, take out the keyboard and put a piece of paper to fill up the concave, therefore this would provide a support upon pressing down the UltraNav left button

Same complaint on my X61 tablet! I had an X31, which had the most perfect keyboard I have ever had the privilege to type on. This X61T keyboard sucks, and the left mouse button is sloppy and noisy. Very disappointing.

I had a similar keyboard issue with my X60s when I took it out of the box. The left mouse button made a loud noise when the button was released, almost as if it wasn't seated quite 100%, or was catching on the key membrane weirdly. I called IBM support and they couriered me a new keyboard assembly, and said I could keep the old one.

Might have to do that paper trick on my new "spare" :D
