Need Restore help....BIG time!
Need Restore help....BIG time!
This morning I opted to restore my x60 via ThinkVantage. I was careful to select the latest backup, and cautiously read the warning about not powering off any time after the selection.
The system then chose to reboot (which I'm guessing is normal);
Thinkvantage came up and the machine's sitting at "Restore in Process."
There has been no progress (still at 0%) on the status bar in the last 45 minutes, but there is obvious disk activity.
Am I screwed?
Jeff

As a last resort, I suppose I could that. Problem is, I'd rather not have to reload all my apps, which is what I'd then have to do....
BTW, disk activity is still present, and it's been over two hours with no movement of the progress indicator.
So, if no progress, what's the silly thing doing?
I'm afraid to interrupt ANYthing at this point for fear of losing everything......

Well I didn't really expect to get a reply in time to help my situation, but I will follow-up here in case it is helpful to someone else.
After close to three hours I stepped away from home and permitted the seemingly stalled R&R operation to continue. When I returned, the laptop had powered down. I took this as a good sign, however I was mistaken. Windows wouldn't boot - vital Windows file not present. Oh well. Pulled out my recovery startup disc and began a new recovery operation from the disc. This time it worked as it should have - I was able to restore from the backup date I desired.
R&R has worked VERY well for me in the past. Although I have a secondary backup strategy (Paragon Backup), R&R is my first choice because it is integrated very well into the system and allows restoration of recent files. I hope today's problem is not a sign that I cannot rely on R&R.
