Vista/XP on T61

#1 Post by downloader666 » Sat Sep 01, 2007 10:00 pm

I have a T61 that came with Vista Ultimate preinstalled (w/o DVD). I partitioned the drive fine into 4 disks: Vista OS, Music, Software and XP OS (they appear in My Computer in that order). However when I try to boot from my XP install disc I never get to the screen where it displays all the partitions and allows me to choose which one I want to install XP onto. It, for some reason, automatically goes to the drive I have established for software, I cant figure out why this is, the drive is practically full. Also the Music and Software drive are both logical and the XP partition I made is primary. Ive done this same procedure before but never with Vista or a T61. Is this an OS or computer specific problem? solution? thanx alot

Sir, I am not certain if this is going to help but please make sure you've switched HDD settings from SATA to Compatibility mode in the BIOS.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
