Will this hard drive function in my T43?

#1 Post by kidpaprika » Sun Sep 02, 2007 9:28 am

Hi. I'm looking to purchase a larger hard drive than the 60GB I currently have in my T43.

Could anyone tell me whether or not this one will function OK in my computer:

Thanks!

No. That is a Serial ATA drive. You need a PATA or IDE drive

Hi drnoom - did you have to apply the firmware patch to get that drive to work, or did it work "out of the box"?

Hi,

it works as "out-of-the-box", no need any patch for my T40.

just formatting and also use fdisk/mbr.

best regards.

note - he has a T40 which doesn't have that issue as your T43 will. You'll have to do a patch to the CMOS or to the hardrive to get it to work with yours.

Hitachi drives are on that whitelist and some other drives but most other drives will be locked out.
