2 MAC addresses

#1 Post by mcad64 » Sat Oct 30, 2004 12:26 pm

Hello everyone!!
My wife and I are the proud owners of a new T42. Here comes the first of many dumb questions as we have never owned a notebook computer. When I opened it up there were two 2 slips of paper with 2 different MAC addresses. One had B/G in it. Do I assume correctly that one is for the ethernet and one is for the wireless? Thanks, and oh yeah...I LOVE this thing!!

Hi there. That's absolutely right. The one labeled B/G is, quite appropriately, the wireless (802.11b/g). :)

The other is for the wired gigabit ethernet.
IBM ThinkPad T42p (2373-7XU): 1.8GHz/1024MB, 15" UXGA, DVD-RW, 80GB, 2200b/g.
T42 (2374-3VU): 1.7GHz/512MB, 14.1"SXGA+, DVD-RW, 80GB, 2200b/g.
