Gigabyte GN WI01GS compatible with T42

#1 Post by kim.t » Mon Sep 03, 2007 7:24 am

Can I use a Gigabyte GN WI01GS network adapter for my T42.
I only have a Intel 2100 3B card.

you can but you will have to hack the system to get it to boot as it wont allow you with that card. Just get an IBM Intel 2915 card and you're good to go without any trroubles..

I just received my Intel WM3B2915ABG card, but when I insert the card I get an : "Unauthorized network card is plugged in Power off and remove miniPCI network card."

Apparently you needed an *IBM* 2915...

See here for workaround. You need to skip the Atheros-only parts. Basically remove the card, run the cd to disable the 1802 error, then you're done and should be able to install the card fine.
