2373KXU versus 2373Q1U

#1 Post by jordi32 » Sat Oct 30, 2004 4:03 pm

What is the difference between the 2373KXU and the new 2373Q1U besides the fingerprint scanner and the cpu speed 2.0 versus 2.1? Anything else differs?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Jordi

Also I think the Q1U has the "second-generation" multiburner.

You'll love either machine. Mine is freakin' awesome.

I am about to buy a T42p from Bill. I can't decide between these two computers: The 2373-Q1U is about $500 more expensive than the 2373 KXU. How come? The only difference besides the 0.1 increase in CPU speed is the fingerprint scanner, right? How can this slight difference cost so much? Am I missing something? Are these machines likely to come with the Thai or the Chinese keyboard? Do they have SP2 preinstalled?

Thank you for your advice.

Best regards,

Jordi

2373Q1U also has new chipset which optimizes wireless a/b/g communication. It has SP2 installed. The difference in price is because the new CPU and chipset are very expensive. I received my Q1U two weeks ago and so far I do not have any complaints.

Salaz,

Thank you for your post. I do not see the new chipset mentioned anywhere on the IBM web site for the 2373Q1U. The 2373 KXU also had wireless a/b/g wireless, right? You mean that the wireless works better on the Q1U in terms of range? Is the DVD burner any better on the Q1U? Did you get the Thai keyboard?

Thank you, Salaz.

Best regards,

Jordi
