Rescue and Recovery set for T41p?
Rescue and Recovery set for T41p?
My T41p is second-hand. I was able to create the Rescue and Recovery Startup Disk but that's it. Looking at some previous threads, it appears that I cannot create my own set, especially since the original owner may have done so (and didn't send them along). Sooo...
What options do I have for returning this to original factory condition with original apps installed? I've been having major problems over the last few days and am thinking a wipe and reinstall is the best way to go. Thanks!

I would highly recommend reformatting the drive so it is back to the way it was out of the factory. It will get rid of all the rubbish from the previous owner.
Does your t41p still have the recovery partition. I think it's F11 on bootup, and then you can re-format the entire system from the recovery partition. If it's missing, you'll need the recovery disks. You can buy them on ebay or IBM directly, or search this forum and I think some nice people like Bill, the forum owener, used to send them out.

I do still have the recovery partition. I just wasn't sure if I did the factory-restore option if if was JUST the OS or all the apps that came with the T41p.
