OS: Vista 32-bit
Build: 6459 CTO
BIOS Version/Date: LENOVO 7LET44WW (1.14 ), 6/27/2007
Issue: My windows pointer speed resets to default (midway between slow and fast) after every reboot.
To adjust I go into Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Mouse. On the Pointer Options tab, I nudge it a few slots toward fast, Apply and Save. Works fine. After reboot, resets to a middle setting. Did not have this issue with my T42p running Vista. I suspect drivers.
Currently using latest Synaptics driver offered by Lenovo (v 9.1.3.4, released 8/03/2007). Found v9.2.5 for Vista 32-bit on the Synaptics website and am considering installing despite Synaptic's recommendation to use only mfg issued drivers.
I have not installed all Vista recommended updates, only select ones per Woody's Forum.
Anyone else experience this issue and found a solution?
Any assistant will be much appreciated.

From the Synaptics website (maker of the Touchpad).

The device driver for a different pointing device is interfering with these settings. If you have recently installed a driver for a pointing device, you need to uninstall that driver (or drivers) to regain control of the Double-Click Speed and Pointer Speed settings.

Thanks GomJabbar. I suspect then, it's the driver for my wireless Logitech keyboard combo that is interefering. Funny thing is, I used the same combo on my T42p with Vista and had no problems. Probably the T42p drivers were just a bit more mature. Since I use my laptop in the docking station the majority of the time, I think I'll just bear the inconvenience for the time being.
