he said, she said..
everyone says something..

so start recording the calls, just like "they" do..

just tell them that you are recording the call for training purposes..

meanwhile, all you have is he said, he said, he said..
which, like the song title, is "written on the wind"..

so, you have had your go at intimidating lenovo, here..

now please take your vendetta to a new venue.. :)

thanks..

Bill,

Well it was certainly not my intent to use your forums as a 'venue for my vendetta' and 'intimidate Lenovo.' (I don't understand how Lenovo could possibly be intimidated by this forum post...)

I hardly see how what I've done could possibly meet the above description, but I will certainly honor your wish that I no longer post further on the topic, and I apologize if I've done anything to offend you.

Should any future readers have any further insights as to my situation, please feel free to e-mail me at pernod@ureach.com

Good day

royco..

i must apologise..
for the vendeta comment at least..

i thought you were another poster who is all over the internet bashing lenovo under at least two names..

my thoughts otherwise are still valid..
you have made your point and continual bashing will achieve little..

your best bet is to gather the proof that you can and present it to upper management..

i know lenovo is not perfect but i must say i never was told to just return to sender and if i had been told that i would have demanded an RMA # and shipped with a new tracking number..

please bear in mind that this forum is educational in nature and not a place to bash anyone..
we allow comments like yours because they ARE educational..
it is only when the line between education and meaningless hyperbole' is crossed that the mods and i will move to shut it down..

and, FWIW, IBM really screwed me and the residual ibm'ers (those few who know who they are) still within lenovo continue to do so..
but i do not continually blast "them"..
nothing to be gained.. :)

you may, if you wish, continue to use this forum to gather any othersn similarly told to "just return it to sender"..

so i am unlocking and watching this thread..

Oh yeah.

Check out the thread with the same title over at NBR, that thread is over 9 pages long and counting. In that thread, that dude vowed to post his "story" all over the net. Also check out Google's finance forum. Apparently the same dude started a long thread over there as well. It's like he's on a crusade against Lenovo or something. Unbelievable.

I just looked, and furrycute is correct that royco posted the same story using the same user ID at NBR. He even included a link to this thread.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=170612

royco had this to say at NBR:
I'm being attacked on Google's Finance Forum where I posted my story...
And the following:
Hellbore: I'm very sorry to annoy you in anyway, but I have no intention of stopping the posting of this same long winded story over and over until Lenovo realizes a problem exists with their frontline reps giving misinformation to customers.

This is an issue of principle, not money - I take responsibility for my mistake of blindly trusting Lenovo, even if Lenovo can't take responsibility for giving me inaccurate information which produced such horrible results.

All I want is an apology and Lenovo's earnest efforts to ensure that this sort of misinformation is not given to other customers - you're really going to sit there and tell me thats asking too much?
And:
...Therefore the need to shout from the rooftops about how Lenovo stole my money and about how they refuse to acknowledge the problem that led to my situation is still very real. I am not yet satisfied that I've had any real or meaningful impact on the level of customer service that Lenovo has/will provide to future customers.

Oh, yeah, it's him. The bright side is that most people understand that it's his own negligence that's at least 99% of the problem. Whatever the Lenovo CSR may have told him or UPS did, he has zero proof that he ever shipped anything if, indeed, he did. It's hard to fault Lenovo or UPS for being skeptical.

The lesson to be learned is to take responsibility for protecting yourself. Never ship anything without getting a receipt or tracking number. You're just asking for trouble without it.

Lenovo has a return policy in WRITING and that is what they will hang their hats on.

There was probably a return policy written on the packaging that came with the unit.
