R32 and B/G card

#1 Post by Drumtochty » Fri Sep 07, 2007 7:12 am

The latest R32 bios advises it will work with an IBM b/g card.

<2.16 - 2.16 (1MET97WW)>
- (New) Support for IBM 11bg Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter.

I have tried an IBM labled card based on the Intel 2200. I do not have it to hand to quote the part number but it gives an 1802.

Does anyone know the parts number of the card that will work and what card is it based on.

PS The FRU of the card giving an 1802 is 39T0079

These cards are supposed to work in the R32: 93P3475 39T0073 91P7416 39T0384.

Generally, avoid the Intel Chipset, issue described here.

Im also looking for a card as well, and is considering;

a) New card from a local dealer
b) New or used card from Ebay
c) To make the BIOS hack described here and here.
d) EDIT the PCI-ID of the Wireless card itself, basically described here, but more easy here.[/url]
