Sonic Multimedia Center is broken
I recently got around to installing the Lenovo CD/DVD burner that I ordered with my T60. It seems to work fine--but I can't say as much for the software that Lenovo ships with it.
The DVD burner comes with a CD marked "Super Multi-Burner Ultrabay Slim Drive Software and User's Guide" that includes something called "Multimedia Center for Think Offerings 2.2"
That application, in turn, includes three software packages from Sonic called RecordNOw Audio, RecordNow Copy, and RecordNow Data.
After installing these packages, whenever I try to execute one of them, a red "Sonic" splash screen appears for a few seconds, and then a dialog box pops up that says:
"Could not complete the last command because: Unknown error"
There are no entries that look relevant in either the system or application event logs.
Any suggestions about where to go from here?

Look at this document as well.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

This happens even with no media in the drive, and it doesn't matter whether the "Enable DLA" box is checked.GomJabbar wrote:Right-click on the optical drive in My Computer, choose Properties > DLA, and uncheck box Enable DLA on your drives. See if this works.
Another option is to try a different brand of quality media in the optical drive.

I spoke too soon. I can now run the Sonic applications, but when I exit the program, it crashes with the following:
Mediahub.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x0036b40" referenced memory at "0x0025f5d0". The memory could not be "written".
Click OK to terminate the program
When I click OK, I get another dialog box, saying:
The exception Illegal Instruction
An attempt was made to execute an illegal instruction.
(0xc000001d) occurred in the application at location 0x00460024.
Click OK to terminate the program.
When I click OK, I get a third dialog box:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: ...ommon Files\SOnic Shared\Sonic Central\Main\Mediahub.exe
R6025
- pure virtual function call
Any additional suggestions would be welcome.

Re: Sonic Multimedia Center is broken
Updated link for the solution:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloa ... MIGR-66040
I followed recommened Automated Solution, but Sonic Icons For Lenovo update was already installed on my computer.
Solved by downloading Sonic Icons For Lenovo update, uninstalling it (it was already installed on my computer), installing downloaded version.
