Vista and T42 - LCD Resolution back and forth

#1 Post by SHoTTa35 » Sat Sep 08, 2007 2:11 pm

... is the best way i can explain it.

This seems to only happen when i resume from sleep and didn't happen before when i first installed Vista. When i log in the system jumps from SXGA+ to XGA then back to SXGA+ in the span of a few seconds.

I formatted few days ago and installed only updates and Power Manager and the fingerprint software figuring i screwed up something but it still happens. I'm guessing it's either power manager or some Vista update. I'm still using the default drivers from the CD for the video card and all that.

Anyone else ever have that?

Did you install the Lenovo System Interface Driver? I believe this is needed for many basic functions to operate properly.

i didn't think it would make a difference but i installed that anyways. It still does it.

Nobody else running Vista on a T42 has this issue? I could try XP later on once i get my Ultrabay HD adapter

Well just a FYI. I don't have any of those IBM/Lenovo stuff installed as i find Vista manages that by default. I only have Power Manager and the Fingerprint Reader.

I guess i can do a format again and test it with just Vista installed and then install stuff 1 by 1 to see what's causing it.

Well, it looks like I'm batting zero. Third strike and I'm out.

Here is my last post to this thread . And yeah, I know the following thread is for an X60.
