2378FVU vs. 23738XU

now, the only difference I see is that the 8XU has a 3yr warranty, 512mb ram, and only B. the FVU has a 1 yr warranty, 256mb ram, and b/g.

am I wrong for thinking the 8XU is the better deal?

*note I'm using IBM's educational website...

If those are the only differenced, the FVU is cheaper. I added 2 years to the warranty and upgraded the ram to 512M (at IBM prices) and the total was still $208 less than the 8XU and has the b/g card.

Did I do the math right?

ah, I see now. it was in the wee hours of the morning in which I read this, so I thought it was a better deal.

looks like I'll be getting the 2378fvu for xmas!
