With no deep scratches on the case, no dead pixels, no marks on the LCD (including no white spots or pressure marks), and no remaining warranty, I'd guesstimate it is worth $350 to $375 US. If it had an SXGA+ LCD with a faster Dothan and an extended warranty, maybe $400 to $450. It's really a basic T40 with a nice hard drive. The Dock II is a nice addition, but not worth much these days, maybe $20.

Excellent breakdown Harry. I agree. $350-375.

drnoom, several things:

1) Because the 160GB HDD is new, it probably still has some warranty. Look up how much remains and state that in your ad. That will help you sell the unit for a little more money.

2) Is the Windows XP Pro COA sticker intact? That's worth another $20.

3) Do you have one stick of 1GB RAM or 2x512MB? 1x1GB is worth slightly more.

4) How about the recovery CDs? If you have a set, burn an extra set and include that. Assuming that the computer still has a WinXP COA, this is perfectly legal and will get you another $20.

5) Go to Battery MaxiMiser and look up exactly how much charge the battery holds, e.g. 64 Wh. Buyers like such info.

6) Adding a few quality photos will help further.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Also, what avenue will you be using to sell the system? In my experience, a T40 like this, sold on this forum, will go for 10-20% less than a local sale or an eBay sale. With the right listing, this system could easily fetch $450-475 on eBay.
