T30 went dead while swapping wifi cards?

#1 Post by Lightning » Sun Sep 09, 2007 11:07 am

I'm in the middle of swapping and trying to find out how to get my wifi going again and I went into the BIOS and selected default settings to get a clean start. I went to boot the machine after that and got the 1802 message again, so I powered down and then removed the card so I could run from the CD and do the fix. Except its completely sone cold dead. Is there some sort of reset button to fix this? I pulled the battery although it's on the AC adapter anyway. But nothing!

After months of no wifi, I probably just should've brought it to a repair shop and paid through the nose and got it back within a couple of weeks. I'm more than willing to try the fixes, but it is a little inimidating.

But if anyone can give me some insight on why it won't boot now... that'd be a good start. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

after removing main battery for a while (24h) doesn't do its job try following:

Again remove main battery and pop off AC cable. Then press and hold power button for more than 30s. This procedure supposedly removes any (static) charge remaining. Not sure if this is gonna work out for a T30 but it's worth it to give this method a try.

Amazing! That worked. Now I can get back to finding out why the wifi doesn't! Thanks so much!
