X61s (Vista): No Brightness OSD?

#1 Post by Jackboot » Sun Sep 09, 2007 12:54 pm

Why does my X60s (XP) have a brightness OSD but my X61s (Vista) does not? I doubt the OS has anything to do with it.

Does anyone have an x61s with a working OSD for brightness?

Make sure the hotkey drivers are installed and TPOSDSVC.exe is unabled in the startup.

i suspect Vista is not so stable and compatible with some programs at these moment, but Thinkpad only pre-loaded Vista is delivered now.

Thanks for the advice.

I definitely have the hotkey drivers installed. However I still do not have a brightness OSD, although I have the volume OSD, thinklight OSD, and Caps Lock OSD.

Under 'administrative tools -> Services' I do not see a service called "TPOSDSVD.EXE" listed.

Any ideas?

Can anyone with an X61s confirm that they have a brightness OSD?

Jackboot, I can confirm with Vista/64 on my X61s, running with the OSD software installed etc... I do *not* have OSD for brightness.

Good to know I'm not the only one :)

Do you think it is a problem on Lenovo's end?
