Don't have a T41 apart right now to try to duplicate what you have (base with no LCD, correct?). Try plugging in an external monitor and see if that helps. You may get an error message which might point to a specific problem.

Well, start with the usual procedure: remove all items (memory, MiniPCI, ethernet, etc.) except for the CPU. Power it up and you should get the "missing/bad memory" beeps (1-3-3-1). Plug in a known good memory module and see what happens from there.
If you have another CPU, you may want to try that too.

I just saw the thread below linked to in another thread earlier today. Why don't you give it a try? It doesn't mention disconnecting the CMOS backup battery, but you might want to do that too.

OK..finally got to play around with it a little, but didn't get too far......
so, I went around to all the chips looking for anything unusual ;
decided to press each one to see if anything was loose
noticed the PCMCIA bracket was loose and not attched properly -
pulled it off, and noticed there were chips underneath -
I applied pressure and felt something give like it was being reset..
Retried it now got 1-3-3-1 !
Added memory, and was able to get to BIOS!
What are the chips under the pcmcia adapter?
Will have to wait and see it still works tonight~
