T61 bigger than expected?

#1 Post by canfraggle » Mon Sep 10, 2007 10:42 am

As someone who used various T-series (T23, T40, T43), did the T61 strike anyone as bigger than expected?

I was really disappointed for a while and am considering selling my 14 inch T61 but the build quality, screen resolution and keyboard have hooked me.

Dual spindle ThinkPads are becoming overweight and obese in my opinion. Not good for our health. ... JDH

canfraggle, is yours a widescreen T61 or 4:3? I saw a widescreen T61 for the first time and indeed it looked much bigger than expected.

Same weight, and I think it is mostly an illusion of the wide screen vs 4:3.......

It's a 14 wide, I guess I'm used to the much more compact T43 4:3

I think what irks me even more is the fact that the Z61t was one of the best sized/balanced 14 inch wide laptops I'd seen.

I think the 14" widescreen is perfectly fine...in fact, i first got a 15" which I thought was huge..and returned it for the 14

Lenovo is also giving / gave you an option of T61 with 14.1'' Standard screen which is less bulky as compared to 14.1 W counterpart.

This is something you should've given some thought before buying the system. Returning your machine now will be subject to 15% restocking fee.
