By the way an update to Thinkvantage Rescue and Recovery 4.1 is now available. The release has added following features:
- New simplified user interface
- Corrected display issues in Pre-Desktop environment
- Improved Rescue File search feature
- Corrected messaging in the installation
- Corrected Image Ultra Builder integration issues in the pre-desktop environment.
After updating please make a new set of Product Recovery disks and discard the older.
Predesktop console and Rescue and Recovery in Windows are very much more simplified than before too.

I have Rescue and Recovery 4.00.0311.00 installed, but, when I try to install
the upgrade to 4.1, I get the error:
but I've since been told that refers to the "hidden partition".
Is there any way to free up space on it so I can upgrade R&R? I really like
that utility, and would prefer to be able to use its latest version.
the upgrade to 4.1, I get the error:
That, at first, startled me, having 54% free space on my 80 Gb hard disk drive,Error 25025. There is not enough space on the computer to install or upgrade
the Rescue and Recovery environment.

You'll have to expand the space of Hidden Service Partition via some partitioning tool or need to completely remove that partition to make the newer version of Thinkvantage Rescue and Recovery work.
By chance are you dual booting with linux?
In any case you can find more info. about this issue in this thread.

My Hidden Service Partition is 591 Mb with 0 % free space, but I'm not in
a position (or qualified by knowledge or experience) to enlarge it, nor do
I want to remove it.
Guess I'll have to be content to stick with R&R 4.0.
EDIT: BTW, I'm booting only to Windows XP.
