Well, when your machine can't turn on it does stay pretty cool!

In all my years of messing around with computers I have NEVER seen anything like that.

The first thought that came to mind (once my brain recovered from shock) was OH DEAR GOD. I hope the CPU and Mobo can be salvaged. I ton of rubbing alcohol should do the trick but still....geez.

Wow, before that, the worst I had seen was an older AMD Athlon with the thermal paste on the rubber pads but not on the chip.

well i understand that sometimes people get the wrong idea about things but this is just pure ignorance. i bet he took it into a shop to get it fixed and when they found that they were like WTF! "hey mike!, did you fix this?"
