Bought T23 - worth fixing?

#1 Post by DPHMIN » Tue Sep 11, 2007 11:37 pm

I bought a T23 JU4 the other day. It has 512 meg of Ram, no hard drive and a DVD drive. It also has the COA for XP Pro. However, it gives the 0175 error, which seems to mean a motherboard replacement is needed.

I am not sure whether I should fix it, or part it out.

Any advice?

Well, it really depends on how much you want the machine. Motherboards for the T23 are running between $80 and $100 on eBay. Practically, you would be better off parting it out and saving the RAM for another T23. Some of us, though, (myself definitely included) find it difficult to be practical with regard to computers...

175 bad CRC1...the EEPROM check is not correct

had a problem like this on my x20 (it was error 188)--
the HMD was able to fix it. YMMV.

Thanks for the replies. I am traveling, and won't be home for another couple of weeks. I'll fiddle with the T23 then.
