T42p Vista wireless fails

#1 Post by Brad » Wed Sep 12, 2007 10:00 am

This may be best in the OS area. If so my apologizes to the mods and please move it.

I have a new to me T42p.

I loaded Vista and I cannot get the radio to turn on. I downloaded the most recent driver but Vista says I already have the most recent driver.

I took a look at the card and it says Phillips. I have not seen this brand listed anywhere.

Any thoughts?

You should have installed the ACPI Power Management driver, the Lenovo Interface Driver and the Hotkey Utility driver version 2.

If Fn + F5 will not turn it on, you can try to turn it on in Vista Mobility Center.

The card is actually an Atheros one so download the drivers for it. Then you can go to device manager and choose "Radio" and select the On from there. Sometimes after a driver upgrade Access Connections needs to also be updated to get it working.

Also, as was said, Vista can manage it too and is what i use.

Actually I have not had the opportunity to work the suggestions.

This is not my main vein as I was Vista testing on this T42p.

Thanks
