T23 Light uniformity problem

#1 Post by dumy1dumy » Thu Sep 13, 2007 4:21 am

Hi all,

I have a problem with a T23, with it's display...
The problem is about the light uniformity, the light is more intense at the base of the display.

When the light at the top of the display is good, at the base is with 25% more intense.... aproximatley 1/3 of the dispaly has this problem...
It's very annoying... :?

What can be the cause of this problem...???

Thanks...

Welcome to thinkpads.com!

Only two things that can be done:

- replace the LCD panel
- reposition the backlight

The first one is relatively easy to do, but costs some money; the second is hard to do, doesn't cost anything but can damage the panel if you are not careful.

In short, you either have to live with it or spend some money and find a replacement display (which may have other issues).

Perhaps this is just due to the display's narrow viewing angle? Have you tried to see if the display looks more uniform at other angles?

Welcome to the forum!
If I look from bottom to top the the base looks fine, but the top looks a little bit dark,
When I look normally, the image is fine on top of the screen and brighter at the base...

The phenomenon is very frustrating when I watch movies in full screen, the botom is always too brighter
