WTB Thinkpads with BIOS or Supervisor passwords
WTB Thinkpads with BIOS or Supervisor passwords
I am interested in buying thinkpads that have passwords. I prefer machines at least as recent as T30s. Send me a private message with details. I would like model number (like 2373-75U) and serial number. I want the serial number in order to make sure the machine is not stolen. I am not in the business of buying machines stolen in airports. I am an honest buyer/seller of thinkpads. You can check my eBay feedback. My ID is fix-stuff.
How do you make sure that they are not stolen, other than to look at the warranty status (which does not tell you THAT)?
PLEASE DO NOT PM
My handheld device can not access PM's and I will not respond.

Say i do have a thinkpad with a BIOS password, but i want it fixed rather than flat out sold.
is that an option, or do you strictly buy?
another issue, my laptop was not bought by my family, it was given to my dad, who then gave it to me. i was never told who gave it to my dad, and i know its well past its warrantee [its a T22]. it has no Windows sticker on it, however i do still have it here .
feel free to PM me about this post, i hope it wasn't breaking any rules, i know there are very fine lines here. i'm a very busy junior in high school, so don't feel forgotten if it takes me a few days to reply though [i'm trying out a new job during school, not sure how it'll work out though].

OK, guys...lets not get into who can do it and how, per forum rules. This WTB thread is a little on the borderline anyway, asking for password protected systems. I wouldn't want a thief to stumble across this page and think "kewl, I have someone that will buy them now". As the OP stated, please send offers offline via PMs.
