T60, access BIOS

This maybe a stupid question, but I can't figure out how to access the BIOS on startup. The Thinkvantage key just takes me to the Rescue and Recovery thing. Which key should I press to get into BIOS?

F1.

In Rescue and Recovery there is also an option to access the BIOS. Select Start setup utility to open the BIOS Setup Utility / Access BIOS in older machines / version of R n R.

Another question, if I want to boot into safe mode, which key should I press on startup?

F8 after Thinkpad logo and before Microsoft Windows screen, in between them.
