how to stretch the battery life?
I got my new R61 and won't move it anywhere except use it on my desk for the whole day with AC adapter plugged in. After one week or two, the battery capacity will decrese below the designed capacity and I have to use it up without AC adapter and recharge it to make sure the battery capacity again beyond the designed capacity. Is there any way not to do it this way to stretch my battery life as I more care about cycling counts?

You can create charging threshold points for your battery, that would contribute in maximizing it's life.
I am very much aware that caution is a very good habit but it seldom applies when it comes to extending the battery life, an honest suggestion from me is to use your machine on battery as much as you can since you never know when the cells are going to get exhausted for good, especially in the 1st year of the battery purchase. Lets say even if it develops a defect in that period, lenovo will replace it for you but after that you'll have to buy it yourself.

That's a good point that we just use it as much as we can during the warranty period. Thanks ryengineer!ryengineer wrote:You can create charging threshold points for your battery, that would contribute in maximizing it's life.

Not surprisingly... my laptop battery dropped from 65 to 30% capacity within the crossover period from warranty to non warranty >.<
I have been using the battery a lot, and at 1 year it was at 65% 1 month later I checked again and its now at 30% and giving me annoying messages about purchasing options for new batteries.
I gave in and purchased a 9 cell and extra AC adapter bundle..
