T61 wireless connection issues

#1 Post by rodwilsonsr » Mon Sep 17, 2007 4:30 pm

Having been a thinkpad fan for years I have recommended thinkpad to my clients.
They have recently purchased a T61 which has the Intel 4695agn wireless card and XP Pro. He seems to be having issues when booting up the computer the wireless will report Limited or no connectvity and once he clicks repair he connects fine.

The things i have tried...
Updated drivers
removed Access Connections
removed all recently used wireless access points
turned off power management
edit local group policy to "wait for network before logging on"
readded Access Connections

If I plug in the ethernet cable and do multiple reboots, the wireless will grab an IP without any issue.

Any thoughts?
Thanks
Rod

Please look into instructions from GomJabbar in this thread or search for similar issue(s) in the forum.

You can also look at a wireless troubleshooting guide from lenovo.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

Have you tried disabling then enabling the wireless connection (this turns the wifi card off/on)?

Mine sometimes flakes out as well (no wifi data is transferred but it thinks it's working) and this seems to fix it temporarily.
