New owner !

#1 Post by SAP_Pete » Mon Sep 17, 2007 6:42 pm

New owner checking in. Had a A30p way back when that I was very happy with, and all laptops I had thereafter were crap (Gateway, Toshi Satellite, HP ZD-series).

Ordered 9/1, received 9/9.

T61p
15.4" screen
T7500
WSXGA+
2 GB mem
160 GB disk
FX 570 graphics card
Windows XP pro
Bluetooth
9 cell battery

$15xx (Labor Day discount). Very happy so far, hope I don't have to deal with the much maligned service organization. :)

FWIW, your best bet is to upgrade to onsite maintenenace at your first opportunity. Good luck with the new machine.

Onsite? Is that the preferred mode now? I have had good luck and good turnaround with sending mine off for depot repair, but it has been about two years since I needed to do so.

A lot of people are doing fine with Depot repair, although there are a few horror stories. On the average most people are happy with the depot service and are not bothering to post about a good experience, they just go on using their machine.
