T60p battery suitable for R61 ?
Hi all,
I order a Thinkpad R61 (89185QG) with 15,4" 1680 x 1050. Can some one tells me if it's possible to use a 9 cells battery from a T60p 14,1" SXGA+ (200887U) with the R61 ?
BTW, I buy this R61 to replace a recent T61 14,1" 1440 x 900. This resolution did not offer enough working place mostly if your are common with 1400 x 1050. 1680 x 1050 must be fine to work but the lappy will be bigger...

I don't know. Here are some pics that show a T60 6 cell and an R61 6 cell. You decide if they will interchange or not.
First pic has the T60 on top and the R61 on bottom.

Second pic has the T60 on the left and the R61 on the right.

Third pic shows them installed in the T60 on the left and the R61 on the right.

You have to understand one thing here. Thinkpad R61 comes in 14.1 W and 15.4 W as of this time.Pascal_TTH wrote:So, it will not fit...
T61/R61 (4/6/7 cells) 14.1 W are not backward compatible.
T61/R61 15.4 and 14.1 (6/9 cells) batteries are backward compatible to T60 and even few for for Z series.
The pictures carbon_unit posted are of the battery of 14.1 W model and since you're buying 15.4 model so the 9 cell battery of T60 will fit.

OK, I understand. I was on the road today and don't have time to check. I can buy a new 9 cells battery, it will suite the T60p 4/3 and the R61 16/10.
Some one just sell a brand new on a french forum.
Thank you every one !
