WTB: New to TP.com $250 budget.....
A 850Mhz 600X is going to be hard to find. It will be very expensive as well. My suggestion is to get a 500 or a 650 Mhz 600X and upgrade it later ...
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU
Rules of the road

And that's exactly why I recommended the T23 or T40 in the first place. But I also agree that the 600X is more durable than the T series. It's not an easy decision!gator wrote:A 850Mhz 600X is going to be hard to find. It will be very expensive as well.

Any 600X that came with a 650MHz has SpeedStep. Most of the 450- and 500-MHz machines did not.
However, by this time, many machines have had parts replaced. You can run a slower CPU in a faster systemboard without much effort. Running a faster CPU in a slower board can be a real headache.
Get the twbook.pdf (see the FAQ on this site). It lists all the 600X models made (well most of them anyway), and shows which CPU came with each model.

Ron was kind enough to sell it to me without the Floppy drive for $210. Now I need to get a DVD drive and wifi card or build an internal wifi.....I think I am going to make my budget!
Thanks all for the help!
