New T61 keeps reverting home page to Windows Live

#1 Post by thunderdog » Wed Sep 19, 2007 8:40 pm

Howdy,

I am the happy owner of a brand new Thinkpad T61:

2.2 Hz Core 2 Duo
15.4 WSZGA+ LCD
Vista Ultimate
3 Gb RAM
100 Gb 7200rpm HD

I have been spending a few days tweaking it to my liking and have been generally pleased with my purchase (an upgrade from my T43 with XPSP2). Aside from Vista's being incredibly bloated (takes around 30 Gb on my HD after updates), one thing has got me incredibly aggravated.

With Internet Explorer, it keeps reverting to the Windows Live home page (http://lenovo.live.com). When I change the home page under >>Tools>>Internet Options to one of my choosing, it works for awhile, then when I restart, it reverts back to Windows Live. This has GOT to be a gimmick! Pretty unprofessional in my opinion. Any suggestions on how to set my home page and keep it there?

Thanks!

Open Access Connections, choose Locations > Manage Profiles > select the profile you use to connect to the internet, > Edit... > Additional Settings tab, and check the Internet Explorer Home Page settings on this page.
