Adding fingerprint scanner to T61. Easy?

I'm considering buying a T61 that does not have the fingerprint scanner but I do have another T61 around with it.

Should it only be a matter of replacing the touchpad/palmrest with one with the fingerprint scanner and connect the cable or is there any other hardware that might need to be installed/connected?

Both are 15.4", but they have different model types (6457, 6460).

yes, it should work.

well i don't know about the T6x series but the T4x you had to buy a new motherboard also. The connectors are missing from the boards. This is probably because the Fingerprint Reader wasn't available on the T40 and T41 tho (or was it - i thought it started with the T42)

Check the mobo i guess to see if there's a connector for it in the HMM.
