Where can you get a cheap Lenovo OEM 8-Cell battery

#1 Post by iamdmc » Sat Sep 22, 2007 12:38 am

Looking for one. My system came with a 4-cell enhanced and I wouldn't mind those 4 hours + another 8 of productivity / playing games :)
Lenovo ThinkPad X220
i5-2410M | 8GB RAM | 240GB Crucial M500 | IPS 720P | BT 3.0 | Intel 1000 | Windows 8.1
yes, the 9mm SSD fits in the X220

You get 4 hours out of a 4-cell? I am lucky if I get one and a half hours. Out of an 8-cell I get 4 hours if I am lucky. Batteries are new and in good health, greater than the design capacity according to the Power Manager.

I get over 8 hours with my 8-cell under normal school use.

Visaperks.ca since you are in Canada - $94 shipped right now for a combo of 8-cell battery and 1GB memory key. There is no option for just the 8-cell battery but you may be able to phone and use the part number listed on visaperks to obtain just the battery at a reduced price.

Cool, thanks!

I'll check Visaperks now.

And I get such good battery using Vista Basic (no aero interface which REALLY drains the battery life, as well as no animations), Wireless off, screen to minimum, muted sound, and a custom battery option I called "Ultra Powersave" - pretty much setting the CPU to "lowest" and all settings to low. It works well.

I have experimented with aero and non-aero battery life. My conclusion is that there is not a significant difference in battery life despite what some reviews I've read claim. My experience does not flesh out what others have claimed regarding poor battery life and aero.
