Accelerometer working?

#1 Post by noetus » Sat Sep 22, 2007 1:06 am

Anyone know how I can test to see if the accelerometer is working correctly in the X61 tablet? I thought it was supposed to orient itself automatically, but it never seems to, and I have to use the manual button.

Also, I have Vista installed, and I like the tablet functions (though there's still room for improvement - e.g. the automatic pen text entry dialog pops up for internet explorer but not for firefox, you have to go grab it manually, and it would be nice just to be able to enter text directly in text-entry fields with the pen without having to go to the bother of writing in a separate box and then transferring it over) BUT it does weird things when I come out of suspend, flashing the screen about 2-3 times in different orientations before settling on whatever I had before I went into suspend. Also, the lappy takes a while to come out of suspend and be ready to take my fingerprint (compared to how fast a MacBook pro comes out of suspend and is ready for input - almost instantaneous) - there's lots of hard disk thrashing. Also, another complaint about vista, while I'm on the topic - the Sidebar gadgets, which I have undocked, don't position themselves properly when you go from portrait to landscape, relative to the edge of the screen. Still quite a lot of ironing out to do in Vista.

I've had the exact same experience so I disabled auto rotate.
It still parks the Hard Drive though.
I also got rid of the sidebar and all that uac nonsense.
