New 2373N3U T42 order

#1 Post by rablaw » Tue Nov 02, 2004 9:56 pm

I ordered a T42 this afternoon via IBM salesman, Model No. 2373N3U, based upon my telling sales what specs I needed and buying some extras I will install. I just learned the part no. when I checked order status online. The part no. says the drive is 60GB @5400 rpm, sales said it would be 7200 rpm, and the email order confirm. says 80GB @7200 rpm (although salesman assured me it was an error).

Haven't got answer from sales yet. Anyone experience this?
Thanks.

there is no such 80Gb 7200rpm drive for sure, for 7200rpm drives, 60Gb is the biggest money can buy, so it must have been an error. There are 80Gb and 60Gb 5400rpm drives, however.
cheers

From what I've seen with the T42 series, if it's a 40GB then it's a 5400rpm drive. If it's a 60GB, then it's a 7200rpm and an 80GB is a 5400rpm.

Thanks to both of you.

I'll see what sales has to say when they get back to me.
