Just noticed that HP sells one for its pavilion line - it is IR though:

My daughter recently bought an HP (Pavilion?), and it came with a remote control in the box. Amazingly the notebook only cost $500 new and came with Vista Home Premium!

I seen a new HP that had one of those. It stowed in the pc card slot.
