Possible to control WLAN with fn+5 without Access Connect?

#1 Post by gpvillamil » Mon Sep 24, 2007 10:21 pm

I have just been setting up a T60P that has just been reimaged.

I needed to remove Access Connections. When I did that, I found that I could no longer control power state of the wireless network using Fn + 5. (Bluetooth continues to work as before, with FN + 5.)

Is it necessary to have Access Connections installed in order to manage the wireless LAN with Fn + 5?

all you need is hotkey features.

Yes, it is possible. Try unistalling your wireless driver then reinstall it.

Using just the hotkey features (without Access Connections), Fn-F5 will give you the familiar black-and-green dialog that controls communication device power -- Bluetooth, WLAN, and/or WWAN as per what's installed.
