T61 Problems

#1 Post by Truthfinder » Tue Sep 25, 2007 12:30 am

Hello Group:

My son was in the market for a notebook and I convinced him into a new T60............ Big mistake.

He took delivery of the new unit and after about a week, began to get the blue screen of death, from time to time. Than, for no reason, the unit would not turn on at all. DOA !!!

He called Lenovo and they walked him through a bunch of stuff and he was able to get the system back to life, however, not for long. He again called and was informed that he was only 23 days into his new unt, thus it would be replaced and they would send him out a shipment box. The box showed up 3 days latter and he sent back the unit.

About a week later a box arrived and after opening the box, my son discovered it was his original notebook with a repair note. The note stated that the bios was updated.

Guess what? My son went to fire up the ThinkPad and it was just as dead as the day he sent it back...... It's evident that the only thing that was done was the note that they stuck in the box.

He called them back this past Friday and was told that the original info he was gien about a replacement was bad info....... Additionally, they gave no reason as to why his notebook was shipped back DOA......

They are in the process of sending him yet another box. Keep in mind they had his unit tied up for over a week the first time around.

At this point he is so aggravated with the very poor cust. service, he wants to return the thing.

Ant ideas on how to resolve this issue with Lenovo.

The kid spent over $1700. bucks and a book end at this point and is not getting the cust service that one should.........

THanks to all who respond......

Ask for compensation, like a mini dock or battery. Make sure to tell them that you wont settle for the kind of service you are getting.

Don't feel alone, there has been a lot of problems some people have with Lenovo service lately. The only way to show them it isn't going well is you have to hit them where it hurts most, in their pocket.
