I have a lot of problems with the docking -undocking and sleep with Vista 64 on a T60P. I have not found any fixes yet from either Lenovo or MS. I can get the black screen and dead keybord. More often I get the situation where the keyboard is dead until I put it back to sleep by closing the lid and then opening it again. Occasionally it will not come out of sleep and I have to force power off. That is not a happy situation.
The trick I think is timing. Don't change any USB connections while it is suspended. It seams to not be able to handle reconfiguration of the USB when recovering. Also I don't dock or undock while suspended, that is sure to cause problems.
I am surprised that MS and Lenovo have not done anything about this problem as it is well known and always been there. One of the patches (about 80 at last count) from MS is to address the USB issues but they only say it "helps."

do you have turbo memory?
the following fixed my issues
1)disable readyboost and readydrive in turbo memory
2)disable APS
you have to do both..doing 1 or the other will have same consequences
a new thing that people have found that has been succesful is disabling hybrid power disc in power management
i haven't tried the latter option, but i am going to since i want to use what i paid for (turbo mem)

Things are better now. In Problem Reports and Solutions, it went to MS and found an update. I installed it. The write up said that it corrected a problem introduced in a previous update. It is KB941833.
I also went to this site
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/63567 ... html?ltr=P
and follow those tips. I discovered that my machine only has S3 power mode. I disabled the sleep wake up from several places, Audio, LAN, etc.
