Can I use system recovery when I install a new HD ?

I just bought a new HD for my T60 .Can I use the system recovery discs for a fresh start for operating system (XP pro)?
T60 ICD T2500
2GHZ 15"TFT
1.5 GB HD 160 GB, 7200 rpm

Yes. The system recovery discs are made for either resetting your notebook to its factory settings and/or installing a new hard drive.

Yes. You will want to do a restore to factory settings. It will create everything on your notebook just like when you first took it out of the box. Then run the update software to get the current drivers. But it will expand (or contract) the primary partition to fill your new hard drive.

How many and what kind of media needs R&R for a T6x ?

The T60 uses one CD for the rescue/boot CD and then either seven CD's or one DVD to make the recovery partition.
