XGA Vs SXGA

#1 Post by songman » Wed Nov 03, 2004 4:41 pm

T42 XGA onwers,
How do you like the resolution on your monitor?

What was your deterinmining factor for not getting upgraded SXGA or UXGA?

IS SXGA worth the upcharge?

THanks

Maybe this won't help, but I have the SXGA+ 14 inch, and it's awesome.

The SXGA of course is optimized for a higher resolution than the XGA, and at higher resolutions things appear smaller on the screen, which can be great because it allows you to have more on the screen, but depending on your eyes and how small you want things, you might prefer the XGA.

Personally, I stick with the XGA because by the end of the day I'm tired and I don't want to concede to my glasses...

This is such a subjective question. One user might think SXGA+ is too small and another might think it's perfect.

Personally, I had a T23 XGA and initially I thought it was great since in the beginning all I did was surf the web, email and use MS Word, BUT ... once I started to use programs like Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Visual Studio, etc ... I found I felt it too confined due to the XGA screen.

I upgraded to a T41 SXGA+ and at least for me, it's been the perfect balance of everything I want. I hear the T42 with flexview has a better LCD than the T41 so I wonder what they are like.
