I give up... [Swapping R30 guts one way or another]

So I give up with the R30... I took out the CMOS battery to check the voltage (it gives 2.47 or so) and the holder broke off the main board again. Dammitalltohell...

So I'd like to know, given the overall cheapness and commonness of dead or stripped thinkpads on ebay, what models can I swap my internals (memory, hard disk w/caddy) into? Or what models can I swap the main board into my R30? The former being the more desirable situation given the level of dissasembly needed to swap a main board...

Any R, A, or G series? Or only specific machines? So many on ebay seem to have no hard drive caddy that I'd like to be able to swap it as a unit but if the caddy is there and the disk is gone or bad, what can I use?
