Thinkpad T60 battery charge issue

#1 Post by ipodtrip » Tue Oct 02, 2007 12:02 am

I have a Thinkpad T60 for over a year now and when I charge the laptop for 24hrs and take off the docking station it only has hour and twenty minutes of use. Does this mean the battery is bad or does it mean it has to be discharged.

Is it 6 or 9 cell battery? How many cycles have you perfomed? What's the remaining capacity left on it?

Your T60 battery has a Li-ion battery, fully discharging it is not a good thing to do, IMHO. Unlike a Nicad battery cycling it is unlikely to improve the battery life. If the initial run time was longer then yes your battery is getting old.
