Weight of T23 and T30 without battery...

#1 Post by T7TrainingSystems » Tue Oct 02, 2007 6:47 am

I'm travelling next month with 2 x T23s and 2 x T30s (as well as 6 x T40s) and I'm having trouble finding a definitive answer about how heavy they are without a battery.

Anyone know? I'm planning to put them in a well-padded hard travel case without their batteries so I can make it under the excess luggage limits...

What I'd really like to do is buy some dead batteries, remove the cells and just keep the battery case in the laptop so it doesn't have a big hole in it.

Anyways, anyone know how heavy they are without battery and have any advice?

Cheers!

Nick

I owned three T23's and weighed all of them with battery:

XGA T23 #1: 5.10 lbs
XGA T23 #2: 5.13 lbs
SXGA+ T23: 5.25 lbs

I haven't weighed the battery but can do so tomorrow in my lab. According to Lenovo, it weighs 0.3 kg but that's not precise.

I've never weighed a T30. It should be about 0.5 lbs heavier than the T23 and the T40.

Thanks for the great data pianowizard. With these stats and the ones you answered on my other post, it looks like the 10 laptops will come to 20.4kg (44.9 lbs) which, along with the case, mouses and other equipment, should hopefully just sneak in under the 32kg limit for aircraft baggage.

Thanks for your help!

Are you bringing the AC adapters as well? My T42's 72W adapter weighs 364.3 grams.

[censored]... good point. That's an extra 2kg...

In the past when I've travelled with so many laptops, I've dreamed of a single transformer with ten plugs coming from it. Does antone know if this is possible?
