have you tried the utility or driver from a tablet..?

without checking (too tired now to do that) i'm not sure if the flip ability is embedded in the driver or if it is a utility..

though, it seems to me that there are devices made to be mounted on the ceiling of a van or car..

Could you use an external LCD monitor mounted in your van? (Not what you are trying to do, but an alternative solution/suggestion.)

of course i could mount a flip down monitor but the idea was to save the $200 and just mount the lap top plus i would remove the lap top when i wasnt on a trip so i wouldnt have to worrie about theft i used to work in the car audio install biseness and you wouldnt beleve how badly the interior of a car gets torn up when somone steals or tries to steal a roof mount monitor

i figured this wouldnt be a problem and i have found software that will do it but i dont want to pay for it any more help would be great

Well, did you perhaps try search on your own for a utility for this, using e.g. Google? Doing this, e.g. the free program iRotate comes up - you might want to try it out? Get it --> here.

PS: Some PC's already have such a functionality built-in; see this page.

Best regards,

Johan
